The car-free mountain village of Zermatt lies at the end of the Matter valley, close to the Italian border. Already the journey itself will become an unforgettable experience. Zermatt is easily and comfortably accessible from all surrounding international airports (Zürich, Geneva and Milano).
The journey by train takes you along the highest mountains in Switzerland and allows guests to admire the unique nature of the Alps. Trains generally depart every half an hour.
Access to the Matterhorn village with private transportation is not permitted, however this does not mean you cannot get here by coach or car. From Täsch, the shuttle train brings guests straight to Zermatt in only 12 minutes.
Most of the attractions within the village are in walking distance. To avoid having to carry luggage or ski equipment, guests can grab a taxi or the public bus (green line) directly at the train station. All tickets of the Zermatt Bergbahnen entitle to the free use of these electric buses.
