This prestigious recognition underscores the international significance of the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing and the pioneering spirit of Zermatt Bergbahnen.

The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing, realized in July 2023, has turned a long-held dream into reality. THE MATTERHORN ALPINE CROSSING ENTERS ITS SECOND YEAR OF OPERATION
After the grand opening last summer, the new cable car connection between Zermatt (CH) and Cervinia (IT) is already entering its second operating year. The Matterhorn Alpine Crossing offers a variety of new activities and attractions: whether it's a day trip to the other country, crossing the Alps as part of a journey through Europe, or exploring the biking and hiking trails beyond the Matterhorn - all of this has been made possible by the new Matterhorn Glacier Ride II. Since May the offering has been complemented by the SnowXperience Plateau Rosa. Please note that the maintenance period of the Cervino S.p.A. will be extended by two weeks in autumn: 09.09.2024 - 26.10.2024.

EXPANSION OF OFFERINGS ALONG THE MATTERHORN ALPINE CROSSING
After the grand opening last summer, the new cable car connection between Zermatt (CH) and Cervinia (IT) is already entering its second operating year. Just next to the cable car station at Testa Grigia, on the Swiss-Italian border, the SnowXperience Plateau Rosa opened in May 2024. This snow park offers the opportunity to explore the glacier up close during the summer months. The beginner area is equipped with magic carpets, providing ideal conditions for beginners to gain their first skiing experiences. All equipment can be rented in the ground level of the cable car station starting from CHF 79.- per person. Other activities, such as snow tubing can be enjoyed as well. ROOFTOP-RIDE
Last autumn, the new cable car between Zermatt and Furi was successfully initiated. Starting from summer 2024, we are excited to introduce the latest highlight, the Rooftop Ride. In this experience, the two cabins of the cable car will be equipped with a kind of rooftop balcony. For an additional fee of CHF 10.-, guests can purchase this extra experience and enjoy the open-air ride and best views of the Matterhorn. Our new Rooftop-Ride will be running five times a day and can be booked online. The capacity is limited: first come, first serve.

As part of the relaunch of the Zermatt Bergbahnen website, we have also given the trade website an upgrade. Special optimisations were made in the download area. The new visual language of Zermatt Bergbahnen was consistently implemented during the shootings last winter as well as summer and the results are impressive. CABLE CAR ZERMATT - FURI
In mid-June 2022, the old Zermatt - Furi cable car was dismantled after almost 60 years of service for the Zermatt Bergbahnen and construction work began on a replacement. The new Zermatt - Furi cable car took up operation at the beginning of November, just in time for the start of the winter season. The modern cabins offer space for 100 people, float from the village of Zermatt to Furi and show unique views of the Matterhorn. Find out more about the new AURO cable car here.

INAUGURATION MATTERHORN ALPINE CROSSING
The opening of the new 3S cableway from the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 3883 metres above sea level to the Testa Grigia marks the completion of the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing. With immediate effect, passengers can embark on the scenic trip around the Matterhorn, which includes the highest border crossing by cable car in the Alps at 3480 metres. The opening ceremony was hosted by celebrity presenter Michelle Hunziker and attended by Christophe Dabellay, President of the State Council of the Canton of Valais, Renzo Testolin, President of the Gouvernment of the Valle d’Aosta Region and other representatives of the political and business worlds from both Switzerland and Italy.

ONE YEAR TO GO
In about one year, the vision that has been dreamed of for more than 80 years will become reality. The new Matterhorn Glacier Ride II will create a year-round and continuous connection between Zermatt (Switzerland) and Cervinia (Italy) and will also enable non-skiers to cross the Alps. As such, the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing will be the highest border crossing in the Alps in the future. MATTERHORN TESTCENTER
The modern premises at the Matterhorn Test Center with its imposing backdrop, invite you to do more than just test the latest ski models. The spacious room, where the official ski test takes place in October and November, can be used from January to September for MICE events, such as meetings and gatherings of various nature. Depending on the seating arrangement, the Matterhorn Test Center can accommodate up to 460 people. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us at any time. NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT AT THE VALLEY STATION MATTERHORN GLACIER PARADISE
After 58 years in service, it's time to call it a day: The gondola from Zermatt to Furi performed its last service this winter. The "old lady" will be replaced by a more modern gondola this summer. At the same time, the building at the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise valley station will be renovated and modernized. In addition to the conversion of the ticket offices, the new building will also house the offices for the administration of the Matterhorn-Zermatt Bergbahnen.
