New digital information system
The Matterhorn-Express valley station was recently equipped with a new and spacious LED wall in the ticket office area, as well as additional digital screens in the area of the gondola entrance. The modern screens provide guests with important information about the status of the cable car at first hand.
The new and energy-efficient LED outdoor screen at the ticket office area measures an impressive 3 x 3.5 metres and provides guests with live information about the cable car and slope operations in a generous format. In the lift entrance area, lift status data and warning messages are also published on new LCD displays in 9:16 format. Along with this upgrade, the layout of the Zermatt Bergbahnen information system was modernised and optimised, which will also be rolled out to the other outdoor screens throughout the area by the start of the winter season.
The new information system at the Matterhorn-Express valley station replaces the digital information system that was introduced over ten years ago. The technological progress over this decade is noticeable and, with the latest LED outdoor screens, offers both more spacious and temperature- and weather-resistant systems that no longer require air conditioning and therefore enable more sustainable operation.
